Adverbs of manner

Most adverbs of manner are formed from adjectives by replacing the adjectival ending -ий / -ій with the adverbial ending (e.g. га́рний га́рно) or, less frequently, (e.g. до́брийдо́бре). The adverbs on this page have been grouped according to their stress patterns, with the adjectives they are derived from given in brackets. Only the basic meanings of each adverb are provided, as they may have a range of meanings in different contexts.

The largest group of adverbs of this type retain the stem stress of the adjective from which they are formed e.g. ти́хо (ти́хий) - quietly.
